Solder Options
Lead Free vs. Tin Lead
- Lead Free (Rohs compliant) and Tin Lead SMT assemblies can be produced using fulliy automated processes.
- Through Hole Lead Free and Tin Lead assembly, utilizing hand soldering methods, is available.
- Either solder choice is available in both washable and No-Clean chemistries.
- All equipment, including rework tools, are capable of processing Lead Free products.
Flux Removal Options
Aqueous wash vs. No clean
Unless instructed otherwise by the customer, PCC employs an aqueous wash for all SMT assemblies. Often times assemblies contain components that, per manufacturer specifications, cannot be washed and must therefore be assembled with a No-clean post reflow soldering process.
PCC has developed processes for both No Clean and Water Soluble soldering in SMT and Through Hole to allow the customer to choose the process that best suits the product's requirements.
